Phrozen TR300 is a grey engineering resin from Phrozen made for heat resistance, with a heat deflection temperature that rises from 65 °C as printed to 149 to 160 °C after thermal post-curing.
Phrozen TR300 is a grey engineering resin from Phrozen made for heat resistance, with a heat deflection temperature that rises from 65 °C as printed to 149 to 160 °C after thermal post-curing.
Printed and UV-cured parts are already stiff, and an added thermal cure of one hour at 150 or 200 °C raises tensile strength and heat resistance a good deal. The maker notes that longer curing improves properties but raises the risk of deformation.
Typical values from the Phrozen user guide. Specimens were printed on Phrozen Sonic Mighty 8K or Sonic Mini 8K printers and cured in a Phrozen Cure & Wash, with 30 minutes of UV post-cure plus one hour of thermal cure at 150 or 200 °C where stated.
| Property | Typical value | Test method |
|---|---|---|
| Tensile strength at break | 56.5 MPa (UV only), 88.6 MPa (UV + 150 °C), 87.7 MPa (UV + 200 °C) | ASTM D638 |
| Tensile modulus | 2,745 MPa (UV only), 4,671 MPa (UV + 150 °C), 4,883 MPa (UV + 200 °C) | ASTM D638 |
| Impact strength (Izod, notched) | 20.1 J/m (UV only), 31.5 J/m (UV + 150 °C), 31.8 J/m (UV + 200 °C) | ASTM D256 |
| Heat deflection temperature at 0.45 MPa | 65 °C (UV only), 149 °C (UV + 150 °C), 160 °C (UV + 200 °C) | ASTM D648 |
