Turnaround, quotes and delivery

Who we print for locally

Cambridge product teams use us for models, fit tests and short runs. We have made finishes and machined components for Node Audio's loudspeakers (case study), engineered the casework for the Samba II diagnostic from Cambridge University spin-out DRW (case study), and worked with the Whittle Laboratory at Cambridge University on vacuum-cast turbine blades.

Why print, machine and finish in one place

Parts that move between suppliers lose days and pick up damage. Here the person who prints your part can talk to you throughout, and finishing, painting, assembly and inspection happen on site. If SLA is not the right process, we say so and use CNC machining or vacuum casting instead.

Send us your file

Email your CAD to Info@compfab.co.uk or call +44 1223 836837. We check every file before printing and tell you if a change would make the part stronger, cleaner or cheaper to make. All file formats accepted.

Frequently asked questions

How quickly can I get SLA parts in Cambridge?

SLA parts are ready in 24 hours as standard, with no rush fee, and most jobs can be delivered next day. Larger or more complex jobs are given a clear timeline up front.

Can I collect my parts from the workshop?

Yes. The workshop at Unit 4B Lion Works, Station Rd E, Whittlesford is a two-minute walk from Whittlesford Parkway station. We also deliver free to the local area and overnight across the UK.

What materials do you print in?

On SLA we run Accura Xtreme grey, MPC12 clear, Rapid White and Somos WaterClear Ultra 10122. Carbon DLS and FDM materials are listed on the materials page.

What tolerance can SLA hold?

SLA parts hold ±0.15 mm. Dimensional accuracy comes from build orientation and process knowledge, not default machine settings.

Yes. We print surgical guides, diagnostic housings and assemblies, and we run biocompatible materials on our Carbon printers. We supply data sheets and Certificates of Conformity if you ask at the quote stage.

How fast will I get a quote?

We quote fast. If you need a quote quickly, let us know and we will do our best to match your timings. Send CAD, the material or finish you want and the quantity.
