A technical data sheet (TDS) is the material maker's summary of how a material performs: mechanical properties such as tensile strength and elongation, thermal properties such as heat deflection temperature, and processing notes. We publish the makers' sheets here, grouped by process.
A technical data sheet describes how the material performs once processed. A safety data sheet (SDS) covers handling, storage, hazards and first aid for the raw material. Use the TDS to choose a material and the SDS for safe handling.
It is listed under FDM data sheets on this page. Our Bambu PPA-CF page summarises the key figures and explains what the material suits.
HDT is heat deflection temperature: the temperature at which a standard test bar bends by a set amount under a set load. It is a useful guide to how a material behaves when warm, but check it against the load and temperature your part will actually see.
Shore hardness measures how soft or hard a flexible material is. Shore A covers soft rubbers and elastomers, and Shore D covers harder plastics. Our cast silicones and polyurethane elastomers span most of the Shore A range.
Not always exactly. Data sheet values come from standard test pieces made and cured under controlled conditions. Real parts vary with geometry, build orientation, wall thickness and post-processing, and FDM parts are weaker between layers, so allow a margin or test a sample.
They are the material makers' own data sheets. Each material also has its own page on our site with the key figures and what we use it for; browse them on the materials page.
Tell us what the part has to do, its operating temperature, whether it touches skin and the finish you need, and we will recommend a material and process. Start with the materials page to compare options.
